Time to Stop Spinning Narratives. Becoming What You Claim To Hate. Here are the facts left out of the video linked here: The Subject: The woman being harassed in this video isn't an "enemy." According to her comment on this thread, she is a two-time Trump voter. According to many more commentators, she also actively serves her community by supporting the homeless. The Context: This appears to be a routine check-in on a homeless person that took an unfortunate turn. The Reaction: Instead of reacting with violence or losing her cool, she handled what could have been a volatile situation with remarkable composure. She should be commended. Kathleen Parker from Townhall.com writes about Lt. Gen. James N. Mattis of the U.S. Marine Corps, who made comments expressing an enjoyment of killing the enemy. She starts out citing a scene from the movie Soldier starring Kirt Russell , where his character Todd is questioned by a women who nursed him back to health after major confrontation with his new found enemies, she asked him "What are you going to do?" and being the disciplined solder he was trained to be Todd's reply was "I'm going to kill them all, sir." As Ms. Parker pointed out, excellent response. While her article discusses and even defends Gen. Matti's remarks, which by the way I feel do not need defending at all, her citing an example from this movie reminded me of some key points that the movie made. I was going to post further about my experience at the Townhall meetup, specifically in regards to the proposition that is coming up for a vote here in Cali regarding Stem Cell Research, but given the recent events concerning the terrorists in Russia and some recent posts by my favorite blogger Lashawn Barber, I decided to post something more relative to keep with the theme. I wrote this post several weeks ago but never posted it, why, I don't know, maybe it just wasn't the right time. I think though, now IS the time.
